About

Why “127”?

Psalm 127 reminds us the Lord builds the home and children are His heritage. James 1:27 calls us to the children who have no home at all. The 127 Project lives in both verses.

127

“Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain… children are a heritage from the LORD.”

PSALM 127:1, 3 (ESV)

1:27

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction…”

JAMES 1:27 (ESV)

Our mission

The 127 Project equips families, students, and the leaders who serve them to pass on faith in Jesus — and brings children without a home into families where they can know Him.

What we believe

Our beliefs

Our core beliefs are rooted in the Bible. The 127 Project shares the beliefs of Covenant Fellowship, where Jay serves. In summary:

God

One God, Creator and Sustainer of all, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit — co-equal and one.

Genesis 1:1, 26–27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2

Jesus Christ

The Son of God, born of a virgin, sinless, who died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily on the third day, ascended to the Father and will return to reign forever.

Isaiah 9:6–7; John 1:1–5; Acts 1:9–11; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Titus 2:13–14

The Holy Spirit

Co-equal with the Father and the Son, He convicts the world of its need for Christ, lives in every believer from salvation, gives spiritual gifts and helps us understand and live God’s truth.

John 14:16–17; 16:7–15; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:12–14; Galatians 5:22–25

The Bible

God’s inspired Word, written by human authors under the Holy Spirit’s guidance — true, without error, and our final authority for belief and life.

Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21

Human beings

Made in God’s image and deeply loved by Him, yet separated from Him by sin. Apart from God’s redemption we have no hope; in Christ we are made holy and righteous.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3–6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Colossians 3:12

Salvation

A free gift of God received by faith in Jesus Christ alone — never earned by good works. New, eternal life begins the moment we trust Him.

John 1:12; 14:6; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5

Eternal security

Salvation is given and kept by God’s grace and power, not our effort. Those who truly belong to Christ are secure in Him forever.

John 10:27–29; Romans 8:38–39; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Peter 1:3–5

Eternity

We were created to exist forever — either eternally separated from God, or eternally with Him through forgiveness in Christ. Heaven and hell are real.

John 3:16; 14:1–3; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15
